One night whilst travelling home late on the tube, i sat opposite a handsome dark-haired man who
was reading - 'Sea of Poppies' by Amitav Ghosh. There was a strange kind of romantic element in the carriage and a very delicate sensuality about the journey, linking it up with a poem to the idea in Clarissa Pinkola Estes' book - 'Women Who Run With The Wolves' of the inner work accomplished during the hard work of transforming base energies into an ideal - 'Porcelein Ducks' (delicate, breakable yet extremely valuable energy) - by a soul.
This poem inspired by the journey, lends a dreamy like quality perhaps instigated by the mans unconscious surpression of pictures he sent out conjured up by the reading of the book - which is itself essentially a story based around the opium trade.
Photo taken from a close-up of sibling ducks - Spring 09.
